bound for TO

headed to Toronto for my niece's wedding, some photos out the plane window

while they may be cliche, for me it is rare to be seeing things from 35,000 feet in the air

I'm content to stay where I am, thank you very much

Toronto's airport, upon arrival

First thing to do is get properly attired, a new Leaf shirt

Another well-dressed Brooks, Simon, my nephew

doesn't matter where you go, there will be flowers

like a bubble machine spewing light bulbs

the sun finds a way to express itself

green is the colour

it is so nice when the leaves turn colour in the fall

caught in the time stream
of colour cycle
through the seasons

like a tv screen image without the tv

when you find the perfect
place to place yourself
only the shadow knows the real you

see with in

purple petal flowers I like

which comes first
the hands
or what they create

using shapes to define space

there is only one place to stand where you know you can turn around

and the sun will be hidden behind

when shadow
as representation of self
comes face to face
with its shadow
who is doing the observing

stop to look to see

the season is slipping away so take what is offered

a couple of different poppies casting odd shadows

as a meditative space for the eyes
time carved the image
and time reveals its message

when the depth is removed
the lines fall in place
as if drawn into the empty space

everything is a reflection
except the rectangular imitation
of a frame balancing itself

as it was before

sunrise of the flower

stand up for your right to be a flower

immersed in a macro-world
where imagination places names on objects
abstracted to avoid detection
a dance of legs with no feet

same flag different angle

a dividing line between
where form takes shape
and shape takes form

you can make the place for the face
more conducive to appearance
by arranging the shapes
that make up the space

shark bite

in order to observe the inside

can you find the King?

that which is carved by water
has a familiar shape
and all it takes is a leaf
fallen in the right place
to catch the eye

there was a place where the light
beneath the surface made a face
of two bubbles random in passing

symbolically alive
by the presentation of the shapes
implying activity like energy

sharp continuous
pink line splits blue sky morning
expands as white cloud

a flicker

they are fading fast as the lazy sun starts getting up late

an outdoor chess match, mid-move

brimming with flight potential a bird
unaware he's already been caught
by a camera

sudden muted light on stream
like a glimpse in passing of a face recognized
a pause to try to identify
the flicker of familiarity

with enough open space and empty mind
the sky will find a way to align
that which is deemed humourous

flag flew up

a flag kind of day

documenting alleyway and flag

framed in the place
where the sun crossed the line
birds divide the sky

with enough concentration
on the simplicity of the face of a rock what would be seen
is really inside the solidity of one

in perceptive reference there is no zero
unless the action of light on leaves
disappears from intensity

before the rain fell there was a calm
whose eventual breaking is anticipated
to be a shape placed in a circular direction
anticipating the creation
of a simple demonstration
of the principles of sound in motion
as our energetic manifestation
ripples constantly
as we touch the world
as solidity

bee minded

I mean really, if you were a bee, how could you resist going there

speaking of bees here's one interrupting the spiral

a lighting pattern for a stage design for a performance where the artist emerges from the center

subtle shades of purple

... and then there was a wind storm

symbols would seem to indicate
some sort of actual object
communicating through simplicity
a direction to take
