seeing far and near

Today's lesson in digital photography;
How to override automatic focus.

The camera continually sees the wires in this shot and will not focus on the distant glacier. If the camera has a manual macro setting that you can adjust, it is possible to go to that mode and set the focus to infinity, then point the camera at the sky only and set the exposure, now still half-holding the button you can compose the scene knowing the camera is set to infinity and metered properly to get a good shot of the glacier.

The before and after results;

on a clear day
you can see the elephant
forever reposed in serenity

glimmer of hope
in the glimmer of snow
seed suspended until spring

in the orchestra composed
during the sunrise of imagination
anything is possible

bold blue jay braves danger
calculating an approach
before dining like a king
